This is a nationally recognised and accredited training course that teaches the concepts of graphic design and its application in the contemporary design world. Taught by passionate tertiary and industry trained professionals, you will learn how to use skills, tools and processes to produce visual communication through creative graphic images for print reproduction and digital media.
Your skills are enhanced in the practical application of the Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator to work to the demands of clients to produce creative design solutions and begin developing a cutting-edge industry-relevant portfolio.
Students will learn practical skills in technical and conceptual design to finished art; the impact of colour on design dimensions; typography; graphic design skills; layout techniques; folio presentation; and much more.
On course completion, graduates will be eligible to study advanced graphic design techniques in the High Demand Skills' Diploma of Graphic Design or Diploma of Interior Design.
Understanding the fundamentals of design is a valuable skill in just about any career.
Typically though, you may find work with either smaller design consultancies, print or publishing studios or PR agencies. You could also find yourself working in-house within a larger organisation within a marketing or communications department. Some graduates set up their own studios, after gaining some work experience, or even straight away.
What ever way you go the skills learnt in a design course will help you innovate, think conceptually and communicate in any position in any business.
